I write poems as a parent, as a woman, as a human being in response to our socio-political world, to both the inner and outer landscapes of emotions and nature. What do the heart, mind and body experience that is so hard to express? Poetry attempts to make the ineffable, visceral, and to connect us to ourselves and each other in this increasingly fragmented but global community.
Illness, trauma and healing have been, and will be a part of my writing as I spend my professional, personal and artistic life in relationship to doctors, hospitals, and researchers in autoimmune disease, and with people living with chronic illnesses, and their care-takers.
You can find many of my poems online or in literary journals.
